What Is PRF Hair Restoration?
Thinning hair is one of the most distressing changes to face, and it affects women as well as men. PRF hair restoration is a natural, non-surgical treatment that uses your own blood to revive struggling hair follicles — no drugs, no surgery, and nothing synthetic. A small blood sample is processed into platelet-rich fibrin, a concentrate loaded with the growth factors your body uses to heal, and that concentrate is then applied to the scalp to stimulate fuller, healthier hair. At LuXe Concierge Aesthetics, it’s a favorite for early-to-moderate thinning.
How PRF Hair Restoration Works
Your blood is rich in platelets and growth factors that signal tissue to repair and regenerate. When a concentrated dose of those growth factors is delivered into the scalp, it reawakens dormant follicles, improves blood supply to the area, and extends the active growth phase of the hair — leading to thicker strands and reduced shedding over time. Because PRF is made entirely from your own body, there’s no risk of allergy or rejection.
PRF vs. PRP for Hair
PRF (platelet-rich fibrin) is the next generation of the treatment many people know as PRP (platelet-rich plasma). PRF is prepared with a gentler, slower spin and no additives, which preserves more platelets, white blood cells, and stem cells and creates a fibrin scaffold that releases growth factors more gradually. In practice, that can mean a stronger, longer-lasting signal to the follicles.
The Benefits of PRF Hair Restoration
- All-natural — made from your own blood, with no drugs or synthetics
- Stimulates thicker, fuller hair and reduces shedding
- No risk of allergy or rejection
- Non-surgical, with minimal downtime
- Works for both women and men with thinning hair
- Can complement other hair-loss treatments
Who Is a Good Candidate?
The best candidates have early-to-moderate thinning and still have living, active follicles to stimulate — including women and men with hereditary pattern thinning or general loss of density. PRF works to strengthen and revive existing hair, so it’s most effective before hair is completely lost. A consultation evaluates your pattern of thinning and whether PRF, alone or combined with other therapies, is right for you.
Who Should Avoid It?
PRF hair restoration isn’t recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, for people with certain blood or platelet disorders, active scalp infections, or some medical conditions. It also can’t regrow hair in areas that are completely bald with no remaining follicles. Your health history is reviewed beforehand to make sure it’s a safe, worthwhile option.
What to Expect
The visit is straightforward. It begins with a simple blood draw, just like a routine lab. While your sample is processed into PRF, the scalp is numbed for comfort. The PRF is then delivered into the thinning areas of the scalp. The whole appointment takes under an hour, and you can return to your day right afterward.
Results and How Many Sessions
Hair growth is a slow process, so patience matters. Most people do an initial series of about three to four sessions spaced roughly a month apart, followed by maintenance every several months. Reduced shedding is often the first sign, with visible thickening developing over three to six months as the follicles respond. Consistency delivers the best results.
Recovery and Aftercare
Downtime is minimal. Your scalp may feel tender or look slightly pink for a day, and mild swelling is possible. It’s best to avoid washing your hair, strenuous exercise, and excess heat for the first day, and to skip harsh hair products for a short time. Simple aftercare instructions are provided to protect your results.
Risks and Side Effects
Because PRF is made from your own blood, the risk of allergy or rejection is essentially eliminated. The most common effects are minor and temporary: scalp tenderness, mild swelling, or slight redness at the injection sites. As with any injectable treatment, being treated by a qualified medical provider is the most important safeguard.
What’s Realistic, and What Isn’t
PRF is excellent for strengthening and reviving thinning hair and improving density where living follicles remain. What it isn’t is a cure for advanced baldness or a replacement for a hair transplant in areas with no follicles left. It also works best as an ongoing program rather than a one-time fix. For many people with early-to-moderate thinning, though, it’s a powerful, natural tool — often combined with other therapies for the best outcome.
Why It Matters Who Performs It
Preparing PRF correctly and delivering it effectively into the scalp takes medical training and the right technique. At LuXe Concierge Aesthetics, PRF hair restoration is performed personally by Deborah Lenchus, MSN, APRN, a nurse practitioner with more than twenty years of experience who teaches advanced aesthetic techniques to other nurse practitioners, PAs, and physicians through both LuXe Concierge Aesthetics and Elevate Aesthetics Academy, and who has performed live VI Peel demonstrations and presented at medical conferences sponsored by VI Peel.

Restore Thinning Hair — Naturally, Without Surgery
Thinning hair affects both men and women and can be frustrating to treat. At LuXe Concierge Aesthetics in Davie, FL, our non-surgical hair restoration harnesses growth factors from your own blood — through PRP, PRF, and PLATED™ exosome therapy, often paired with microneedling — to revive dormant follicles and encourage thicker, fuller, healthier hair with no surgery and no synthetic material.
Every treatment is performed personally by our experienced nurse practitioner, so your care is medically guided from scalp evaluation through to results.
Understanding Hair Loss and Scalp Health
Healthy hair starts with a healthy scalp. Before recommending any treatment, our nurse practitioner evaluates your scalp and the pattern of your hair loss — because the right plan depends on why you are thinning.
Common types of hair loss
- Androgenetic alopecia (male- and female-pattern hair loss) — the most common type, driven by genetics and hormones, causing gradual thinning at the crown, part line, or hairline.
- Telogen effluvium — temporary, diffuse shedding triggered by stress, illness, surgery, childbirth, rapid weight loss, or nutritional changes.
- Traction alopecia — thinning caused by tight hairstyles or tension over time.
- Nutritional and hormonal factors — thyroid changes, iron or vitamin deficiencies, and hormonal shifts can all contribute.
Why scalp health matters
A balanced, well-circulated scalp is the foundation for regrowth. Inflammation, product buildup, and poor blood flow can starve follicles and worsen shedding. Our treatments are designed to improve the scalp environment and reactivate dormant follicles so your existing hair grows thicker and healthier.
Our Hair Restoration Treatments
We personalize every plan and often combine treatments for the best results. Options include:
PLATED™ take-home hair serum
PLATED uses advanced exosome and growth-factor technology to signal follicles to grow. It is a topical serum you apply at home every day — a comfortable, needle-free way to support and extend your in-office results and keep hair looking thicker and fuller between treatments.
PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma)
We draw a small sample of your blood, concentrate its platelets and growth factors, and apply or inject it into the scalp to reactivate follicles and improve density. PRP is a proven, natural option for early to moderate thinning.
PRF (Platelet-Rich Fibrin)
PRF is the next generation of PRP. Spun at lower speeds, it retains more growth factors and white blood cells plus a fibrin scaffold that releases those healing signals slowly over time. In the scalp we both inject PRF and microneedle it in — delivering growth factors deep around the follicles and across the surface for longer-lasting stimulation, with no additives.
Microneedling with growth-factor serums
Microneedling creates thousands of micro-channels in the scalp that trigger the body’s repair response and allow PRP and PRF to absorb more deeply into the scalp — boosting circulation and follicle activity.
Prescription topical foams, if needed
For some patients, a prescription-strength topical such as minoxidil foam can be added to daily care to support and maintain results between in-office treatments. Our nurse practitioner will advise whether an Rx option is right for you.
Which Treatment Is Right for Your Type of Hair Loss?
The best plan depends on why you are thinning. At your consultation, our nurse practitioner evaluates your scalp and hair-loss pattern and builds a tailored plan. General guidance:
Androgenetic alopecia (male- & female-pattern)
The most common, ongoing type. It responds best to a combination: in-office PRP and PRF (injected and microneedled in) to stimulate follicles, daily PLATED at home, and — when appropriate — a prescription minoxidil foam. Consistency and maintenance sessions matter most.
Telogen effluvium (stress, illness, postpartum, rapid weight loss)
Usually temporary shedding. PRP/PRF and microneedling can speed recovery and encourage regrowth while the trigger resolves, and daily PLATED supports the scalp. Correcting the underlying cause (nutrition, stress, thyroid) is essential.
Traction alopecia (tension from tight styles)
Caught early, follicles often revive with PRP/PRF and microneedling once tension is reduced. Long-standing, scarred cases respond less predictably.
Nutritional & hormonal thinning
Best results come from treating the root cause (iron, vitamin D, thyroid, or hormones) alongside PRP/PRF, microneedling, and PLATED to support regrowth.
Early or diffuse thinning & prevention
Great candidates for daily PLATED plus periodic microneedling maintenance, with PRP/PRF for an added boost.
