A lip flip uses just a few units of Botox to gently roll your upper lip out for a little more show, with no added volume. Lip filler actually adds volume, shape, and structure. A lot of my patients combine the two for the most balanced result — and I’ll help you figure out which makes sense for you.
What to Expect
Plan on about 30 to 45 minutes, and I numb you first for comfort. Expect some swelling and possibly a little bruising for a few days while everything settles. HA lip filler usually lasts six to twelve months, and because it’s reversible, we can adjust or dissolve it if you ever want to.
Aftercare
For the first day or two: ice as needed, drink water, and skip strenuous exercise, a lot of heat, alcohol, and pressing on your lips. Your real result shows up once the swelling settles over the first couple of weeks.
Who’s a Candidate?
Most healthy adults who want natural lip enhancement are. I’ll hold off during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with active cold sores or infection, or certain medical conditions — and if you’re prone to cold sores, I can set you up with prevention beforehand.
