“How many sessions will this take?” is the most common acne-scar question we hear — and the honest answer is: it depends on your scar types, their depth, and which treatments we combine. Here are the realistic ranges we plan around at LuXe Concierge Aesthetics in Davie, FL.

Typical treatment counts by modality

DP4 medical-grade microneedling: usually a series of about 3–6 sessions spaced roughly four weeks apart, with improvement building gradually as collagen remodels.

RF microneedling (Pixel8): most scar plans use around 2–3 sessions, four to six weeks apart, because the added radiofrequency energy remodels more per treatment.

Fractional CO2 or Erbium resurfacing: often 1–3 sessions. Deeper settings accomplish more per treatment but carry more downtime; lighter passes trade downtime for a longer series.

Chemical peels: typically a series, and usually a supporting player for texture and post-inflammatory discoloration rather than the main scar-remodeling tool.

Subcision: for tethered rolling scars, often 1–3 focused sessions, usually combined with an energy device in the same plan.

Why combination plans finish faster

Because most patients have a mix of scar types, pairing the right tools usually produces more improvement in fewer total visits than repeating one device. A common LuXe sequence: subcision to release tethered scars, an RF microneedling or DP4 series for remodeling, then a resurfacing pass to blend edges and texture.

When results appear — and how long they last

Collagen remodeling is slow biology: expect early changes around 4–6 weeks after a session, with results continuing to build for three to six months after a series ends. Scar improvement is generally lasting, though skin keeps aging — good skincare and sun protection preserve the gains.

Set expectations honestly

No device erases scars completely. Realistic plans aim for a meaningful, visible reduction — smoother texture, softer shadows, makeup that sits better — and we tell you at consultation what your scars can realistically achieve before you commit to a series.
