RF microneedling and fractional CO2 laser are both excellent for skin tightening, texture, and collagen — but they work differently and suit different patients. Here is how we choose at LuXe Concierge Aesthetics in Davie & Weston, FL.

Which should you choose?

Choose RF microneedling for tightening, pore refinement, and texture with minimal downtime — and it is a safer choice for deeper skin tones. Choose CO2 when surface concerns dominate: deep wrinkles, heavy sun damage, or acne scarring, and you can plan for downtime.

Deborah’s Clinical Perspective

I reach for RF microneedling when a patient wants firmer, smoother skin with a quick recovery, or has a skin tone where I want heat delivered below the surface rather than ablating the top. I choose CO2 when the surface itself needs resurfacing. They are not rivals — I frequently alternate them in a plan, using RF microneedling for tightening and CO2 for targeted resurfacing.

FAQ

Which has less downtime?

RF microneedling generally has less downtime than fractional CO2.

Is RF microneedling safe for darker skin?

Yes — because the energy targets below the surface, RF microneedling is generally well tolerated across skin tones.

Can I do both?

Yes, often in a combined plan. We sequence them based on your concerns.
