Density by Jeisys is the radiofrequency (RF) skin-tightening device we use for mild to moderate laxity on the face, neck and body. On its own it is a strong treatment — but in practice, most of our best outcomes come from pairing it with treatments that build collagen through different mechanisms. Here is how Density works, what it does well, and the combinations we reach for most.

How Density builds collagen

Density delivers monopolar radiofrequency energy that heats the deeper layers of the skin to therapeutic temperatures while the surface is kept comfortable. That controlled dermal heating does two things: it causes existing collagen fibers to contract and remodel, and it stimulates fibroblasts — the cells that manufacture collagen — to gradually produce more over the following weeks to months.

Because new collagen takes time to form, results build gradually. Most patients are evaluated over a short series of sessions, with the plan tailored at consultation. Improvement is typically described as firmer, smoother, better-supported skin rather than a dramatic overnight change — and individual results vary.

What Density does well — and what it does not

Density is best suited to early jowls, softening jawline definition, crepey neck and body skin, and overall skin quality. What it does not do: it does not add volume where volume is lost, it does not treat the muscle activity behind expression lines, and it is not a replacement for surgery when laxity is significant. That is exactly why combination plans exist.

The combinations we use most

1. Density + hyperdilute Radiesse

Radiesse is an FDA-approved calcium hydroxylapatite filler. When diluted and used as a skin-quality biostimulator — an off-label but well-established technique — it stimulates collagen from within the skin while Density tightens from dermal heating. The two mechanisms are complementary, which is why this is our most common pairing for the neck. We compare the two in detail in Density vs. hyperdilute Radiesse for the neck.

2. Density + Sculptra

Sculptra (poly-L-lactic acid) is an FDA-approved collagen biostimulator that restores deeper structural volume gradually over a series of sessions. Sculptra rebuilds the foundation; Density improves the envelope of skin above it.

3. Density + laser skin resurfacing (Erbium or CO2)

Radiofrequency tightens from within the dermis, but it does not resurface the skin itself. Pairing Density with Erbium or CO2 laser resurfacing addresses both sides: the laser renews sun-damaged, rough or crepey surface texture and stimulates its own strong collagen remodeling response, while Density firms the deeper support. Because resurfacing involves real downtime, these treatments are staged — spaced and ordered at consultation rather than performed together.

4. Density + chemical peels

Chemical peels (VI Peel, BioRePeel and PCA peels) renew the surface of the skin — improving tone, texture and pigment irregularities with far less downtime than laser resurfacing. They pair naturally with Density: the peel refreshes the surface while the RF works on deeper firmness. Peels are also a practical maintenance option between device sessions, staged so the skin has time to recover between treatments.

5. Density + medical-grade skincare

Daily retinoids, antioxidants and sunscreen protect the collagen you build. Without sun protection in particular, UV exposure continues to break collagen down faster than any device can build it. We build routines around ZO Skin Health and the other lines we carry.

Sequencing and safety

Combination plans are staged — treatments are spaced and ordered deliberately, and everything is performed personally by Deborah Lenchus, MSN, APRN, after a full consultation that includes an Aura 3D skin and volume scan. If a treatment is not right for your skin, we will say so.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Density RF skin tightening really build collagen?

Radiofrequency energy heats the dermis to therapeutic temperatures, which stimulates fibroblasts to remodel existing collagen and gradually produce new collagen over the following weeks to months. Improvement is typically gradual rather than immediate, and individual results vary.

What treatments can be combined with Density?

Common pairings at LuXe include hyperdilute Radiesse (an off-label biostimulator use), Sculptra, skin resurfacing lasers such as Erbium or CO2, and a medical-grade skincare routine. The right combination and sequence are decided at consultation based on your skin and goals.

Is there downtime after Density?

Most patients return to normal activities right away. Temporary redness or warmth in the treated area is common. Your provider will review what to expect for your specific plan.

Can Density replace a facelift?

No. Density is a nonsurgical option for mild to moderate skin laxity and skin quality. Significant laxity or heavy jowling may be better served by surgical consultation, and we will tell you honestly if that is the case.

Individual results vary. This article is educational and is not a substitute for a medical consultation. Treatment plans, session counts and outcomes depend on your skin, anatomy, health history and goals.
